Welcome to our new users!
This special page is designed to help you transition from using the agenda on balfolk.nl to using Plug.events for publishing events.
We have imported all your data so that you will find your events (including historic events), bands, teachers, organisers and more on Plug.events. In the process of importing we have improved and extended the data so that you have a wealth of information to browse.
Plug.events is simple to use so it is mostly just a case of getting used to it. This help site should explain anything that you are not sure about.
We encourage you to offer any feedback and feature requests using ‘Get Support’ on your menu or by email to [email protected].

The events in the Netherlands will be published on Plug.events and embedded on www.balfolk.nl so balfolk.nl will keep providing an agenda of all upcoming events in the Netherlands. Plug.events will provide a lot of extra features besides that.
Everyone can use Plug.events without an account.
If you are a regular user then you will probably want to create an account. This account is for you as a person - you may also want to create Orgs later see About Balfolk NL Orgs below. Once signed up you can see events you are interested in on the sidebar, and you can follow events and orgs to get notifications of their changes and new events. You will also be able to have conversations with other users, organisers, bands etc.
The signup process is simple, you will be sent a code to verify your email address then you are all set to search, create and chat.
We recommend that after creating your account that you check your settings especially your privacy options. Because we value your privacy these are initially set so that you cannot be contacted directly and do not appear in searches, you may want to change this.
When we loaded the data all the bands, organisers, musicians and teachers were created as Orgs, they are all unclaimed and the temporary owner is a member of Balfolk NL.
These Orgs are listed under the Balfolk NL Org which is what we refer to as an umbrella Org. We have set it up so that the Balfolk NL Org can maintain all the Orgs and Events that we loaded as part of this umbrella. So Balfolk NL will continue to maintain and create information as they have before.
