What is Plug.events?

Plug.events is a new website that helps communities to coordinate online. We have developed a simple but effective tool for organizers, event goers and curators. We continue to add new features to meet our user’s needs.

We avoid the toxic aspects of traditional social media - no ads, no attention economy, and we don't sell data or expose your account. We include and expand the beneficial aspects of social media - community and member connection.

A Site for Everyone

Plug.events is open to everyone. Any type of event can be published.

We currently support a small number of dance communities: forró, balfolk, fusion and a little tango and some local community groups based around a location such as Las Vegas, New Mexico, and Utrecht, Netherlands. We will continue to expand and actively curate events on behalf of all types of communities.

Plug.events is for people who want real events with accurate, up-to-date information:

• Event Providers - Organizers, Teachers, Artists, Musicians, DJs, Community Associations… Publish your events, share the information, do the event. We have created features to help you manage your event, join us and tell us what you need!
• Event Supporters - Volunteers, Event Curators, Local Guides, Networkers, Hosts… Enabling you to promote and connect with your community. Plug helps you share information and contact like-minded people easily.
• Event Goers - Dancers, Walkers, Club Members, Gardeners… Find out what is going on and connect with community members. We enable you to search based on your interest and location, presenting authentic and accurate information. We need you to tell us what other featurtes you would like.

Plug.events shifts the power from media giants and corporate advertisers back to you – the communities and community members.

How can it be Free?

For event goers and organisers alike it is free to use. When we introduce finacial transactions there will be a small fee per transaction and this will help fund the project.

We are self-funded because we believe in communities and what we are doing to support them. If you want to support us, we welcome sponsors and donations which will help us continue the project - every donation is valued however big or small.
